Seriously. What is it with the goth/punk/emo vs. prep thing? I'm not a prep, or anything else I mentioned for that matter, but I've never really understood the whole "Grr we hatez dem doggone preps". Usually the reason that they give is that the preps are shallow and stupid and always try to "bring them down", but honestly I don't see preps hatefully going after goths or emos with pitchforks and torches very much, if at all. They also say that preps "label them" and "don't understand who they are as people", but I mean, aren't you doing the same thing with your "anti prep" messages?
Even when I went through my batshit emo phase a few years back I still had really good preppy friends.
Things are different now than they were years ago. The tower of social hierarchy in school grew too tall from all the different social groups that were getting added to it and so it fell down and now they are all equal.
There are social groups still but since there are so many none of them can have more power than any of the others, they are all needed for this, preps, jocks, gamers, nerds, goths, they are all needed to keep this order.

That's what I think too. Preps aren't like the cruel overlords of the school, so why do they get so much hate? I actually get along with more preps than people that consider themselves "prep-haters".

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I'm actually not 100% sure what the definition of a prep is nowadays, it's changed a lot from the first time people started using it.
